Head out on Västerdalälven

Do you want to take it easy for a while and experience the mountains from the water? At Kläppen, you can go canoeing, SUP, or take a rowing boat trip along the beautifully winding Västerdalälven. The trips start from Kläppens Camping or Transtrand.

 

Rent a canoe at Kläppens Camping

Gliding along the tranquil river gives a wonderful sense of freedom. There is plenty of space for both calm paddling and small breaks along the way. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, listen to the water, and take the day as it comes.

You can choose to paddle upstream or about 2 kilometres south to a small sandbank, which is a perfect stop for a dip or a break in the sun.

Half-day trip with transport.
Do you want to paddle a longer distance?
Then you can book a half-day trip with transport in advance. The trip starts in Transtrand, about 6 kilometres north of Kläppens Camping, and takes approximately 1.5–3 hours depending on your pace.

500 SEK / full day
600 SEK / half-day tour including transport from Kläppen to Transtrand.

When you hire a canoe, you set out from Kläppen Camping. A life jacket is included and can be picked up at the camping reception. The canoe must be returned at least one hour before closing.

  • Each canoe has three seats.
  • Life jackets are mandatory and included when renting a canoe, SUP and rowing boat.
  • To secure your desired day and time, we recommend pre-booking.
  • All equipment is rented at the customer's responsibility.
  • Age limit: 16 years.
