Kläppen Rennen - A race for Per
When you stand there on the edge of the mountain and breathe in the crisp winter air, you can feel the same passion that once drove Kläppen's founder, Per Eriksson. To honour his love for skiing and speed, we now invite you to Kläppen Rennen – A race for Per, where the entire entry fee goes directly to dementia research and the Dementia Fund.
You are helping to create hope for the future.

Per Eriksson, founder of Kläppen
Per's Journey to Kläppen
Per was a dedicated skier who competed in the 1960s and achieved several podium finishes in both Dalarna and Östergötland. He was the one who started the Kläppen Rennen in the 1980s, and his drive and joy became an important part of the foundation of today's Kläppen. In the late 1970s, Per began working as site manager in Lindvallen, and when the opportunity arose to build a completely new mountain facility, he never hesitated. Kläppen was born in 1982, creating a place where racing, training, and community have always had a natural home. Today, that tradition continues through the Kläppen Race Arena. In 2017, Per was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia, and in 2021 he passed away. Through A race for Per we carry his legacy forward – both on the slopes and in the fight against dementia. When you participate, you make a difference, carrying his passion forward into the future.Closed slopes
During the competition day, parts of Älgstråket, Bäverdalen and Familjebacken will be closed.
