Kläppen Ski Resort and The Swedish National Snowboard Team has entered into a partnership that gives great opportunities for the athletes in the sport. Above all, elite skiers are given exceptionally good training opportunities in a park that has been named Sweden's best for nine years in a row.
This year, the IOC decided that slopestyle for Snowboarding will be included in the Olympic program. Sweden is predicted to have very good medal chances when the Olympics will be held in Sochi in 2014, with Niklas Mattsson's World Championship silver still fresh in our memory.
Before the Olympics, the World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo will be carried out in February 2012, and even a World Championship in Quebec in January 2013 two quite important measures of the medal chances for the Swedish skiers.
To further develop the sport
Olle Danielsson, sports manager for the Snowboard Team Sweden, thinks that the cooperation with Kläppen Ski Resort will further develop the sport and give athletes more attention from a wider audience.
For Kläppen the cooperation does, of course, present many opportunities. It is not only about the honor of welcoming the world racers but Also the conviction that more ski enthusiasts will be attracted to the sport. Further cooperation is expected to lead to Kläppen Snowpark facing a sharp and refined development curve, because the common ambition is that the park will be developed along with elite athletes. And given that Kläppen Snow Park has been named Sweden's best Snowpark for nine years in a row, one can imagine the quality the park will offer the national team as well as the "regular park enthusiasts."
Slide'n Ride - Kläppen Snowpark week
A number of competitions will of course be implemented in Kläppen Ski Resort during the coming winter season, where elite skiers from the Nordic countries will take part in spectacular skiing of the highest standard. In addition, during week 11 Kläppen Ski Resort and the Swedish Snowboard Federation will arrange Slide'n Ride - Kläppen Snowpark Week, where skiers of today will meet with yesterday's "veterans". Seven days of park skiing, competitions, camps, challenges and development guaranteed to make a mark in the world of parks
